Although Publishers are usually pretty strict on what they want to see in their game.

Fact is there are people who are usually dead set on purchasing a particular console that aheed's to their needs specifically. Some people don't want all the technological gadgetry that comes with the PS3 and just want to play next-gen games on their Xbox 360.
Other people might just be waiting for a price drop. I don't know if they will keep the edge but I predict strong sales for Xbox 360 regardless.

It's hard to make a game as epic and well polished as MGS4. Took a lot of time to develop and if I was a game developer I'd be pretty envious, just like how I'm sure Nintendo and Microsoft are kicking themselves in the arse over LittleBigPlanet.
